Getting to Macao

There is a direct ferry service between Macao and the Hong Kong International Airport - journey time 45 minutes. If you travel into Hong Kong, there is another high speed ferry - journey 55 minutes - leaving at intervals of 15 minutes during the daytime, and at up to 90 minute intervals at night. (Take the MTR to Sheung Wan station - 45 minutes minimum, and use exit D).

If you can get a direct flight to Macao, then there will be less travelling, and it will be cheaper than going through Hong Kong.

Alternatively, you can fly to one of the adjoining airports in the Pearl River Delta - Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Zhuhai - and then travel overland or by ferry to Macao.

The airport is located on Taipa Island and is 15 minutes from the Macao Ferry Terminal, 20 minutes from the Barrier Gate and 10 minutes from the COTAI Frontier Post.

There are approximately 18 airlines that fly to Macao and connect to several cities in China, Taiwan, Korea and Southeast Asia. (For detailed information on immigration and customs formalities, you can visit the Immigration Services website).
